Today marks 7 weeks in Nigeria. We wanted to get out of the house, so we took the kids to a park/playground in the morning when it hadn’t gotten too hot and they had a good time. It was a good distraction on a day where we were looking forward to the end of the weekend and the beginning of a week- hopefully of things getting done for the visa.
Ruth continues to enjoy the company of the Wilks family- as do I. We are so grateful that we have their friendship during this adoption. And we are praying for their first appointment on Thursday- that God would allow the Consulate to be helpful and reassuring. That they would get some questions answered and feel more confident that this process won’t last for several more weeks.
I continually appreciate the prayers and supportive messages. It’s not getting easier the longer we are here, but God is sustaining me. I am hoping to be home before Allen’s birthday. He asked me if I could make him a blue birthday cake, and as silly as it sounds, there’s nothing I want more than being able to do that for him.
Please pray that we receive great news about Ruth’s visa tomorrow (Monday)- pray that God grants us a miracle of mercy by allowing the Consulate to schedule an interview very quickly. Keep praying that we can be home very soon.
